To the uninitiated, those three words will probably make as much sense as being told that clicking on pixelated fire hydrants will help prove your humanity before shopping online. To the veterans of the brand however, they'll undoubtedly bring about a nostalgic sense of belonging.
You see, over the years, many a wordsmith has taken pen to paper to delve into the story of Gymshark; of how a young and ambitious boy from the 0121 quit his job delivering pizza to start a screen-printing operation in his parents' garage. An operation which would soon show a new generation that it was possible to not just “make it” in the fitness industry, but actually make it big.
And whilst those articles summarise our journey incredibly well, there’s often one chapter missing. And arguably, it’s the most important part of the story: our family.
Chapter 1
The Biography Of The Gymshark Family*
*(This could totally be one of those things that sounds cooler in our head than it does out loud, but we're sticking with it).
At Gymshark, you’ll often hear us refer to our community as our family - or, on the odd occasion when the pre-workout hits us a little harder than usual, we may (out of pure excitement) also abbreviate this to FAM. And yes, the capital letters are 100% necessary. The #CopywritingBible states it.
We know, it all sounds a little dramatic… but together, we have created a community of like-minded individuals with similar aspirations. This family is built on trust and an invaluable sense of belonging. And we’re pretty darn proud of it.
Our family consists of athletes, artists and visionaries. Of those who lift weights, and those who selflessly lift others to reach their full potential.
We exist to unite the conditioning community, but it will always be our family, the OGs and the real heads who keep the conversation honest – never letting us forget where we came from, and always reminding us where we should be going.
